PTPTN Loan Repayment Exemption

Good day, guys! This is basically my very first post over here, so I thought of making it a beneficial one. I've just submitted the form and necessary documents for the PTPTN repayment exemption. In order to apply for this exemption, you need to complete your BACHELOR'S DEGREE with first class honours. The CGPA for first class honours varies by university. By the way, it is 3.70 in UPSI.

Here are the documents that you need to apply for the exemption:

1.Copy of the Bachelor's Degree (Scroll)

2. Transcript

3. First class confirmation letter (If the documents above do not state that you obtained first class honours)

4. Borang Permohonan Dan Akuan Penerima Biaya Bagi Pengecualiaan Bayaran Balik Pembiayaan Kerana Mendapat Ijazah Sarjana Muda Dengan Kepujian Kelas Pertama Atau Setaraf Dengannya

Downloadable from the PTPTN website:

http://www.ptptn.gov.my/docs/Borang%20PTPTN/BORANG%20PERMOHONAN%20DAN%20AKUAN%20PINJAMAN%20BAGI%20PENGECUALIAN%20BAYARAN%20BALIK%20PNJAMAN%20(kelas%20pertama)%20Pin%20%2010%20(2).pdf

Always download the latest version. As of 12th October 2016, Pin.10 is the latest version for now.

5. MQA Approval letter (For private institute students)

Make sure all the documents (Except the repayment exemption form) are stamped and verified by the assistant registrar or anyone in charge of the Unit Pengijazahan / Graduation Unit (Academic Division). You may ask your friends' /juniors' help to get them verified (That's what i did =p). Puan Safinaz binti Salim is the person in charge of that particular unit in UPSI (as for now). So, she is the only one who can verify the necessary documents. Printed signatures are not acceptable. The person in charge must stamp the documents and sign them to get them verified.

After getting them verified, send them to the PTPTN headquarters or any of the state branches.

The HQ's address:

Bahagian Penguatkuasaan dan Kutipan Balik,
Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN),
Tingkat Bawah, Menara PTPTN,
Blok D, Megan Avenue II,
no. 12, Jalan Yap Kwan Seng,
50450, Kuala Lumpur.

You can either mail them to this address (PosLaju/PosLaju Express is recommended) or send them by hand (strongly recommended). The headquarters is near
KLCC (walking distance).

If you submit them yourself at the headquarters (by hand, like I did), you should receive this letter:

That's all you have to do. It will take about 3 months for your application to be approved. Good luck, guys..
